Hello, my name is Paris Arizona Ash. I am currently in my final year of my undergraduate degree at the University of Sunderland studying BSc Clinical Psychology and I am hoping to pursue my PhD beginning October 2023 (pending). In terms of research, my main interests are misophonia, misokinesia, discrete disorders, and how lived experience can inform research – promoting patient and public involvement (PPI) in research. Outside of academia, I enjoy keeping active and fit through various activities, such as, gymnastics, going to the gym, walks with my dog, yoga, the list is endless. I also take part in a lot of volunteer work, one of my most recent roles is that I am a befriender for a mental health charity working with older adults. Research is important to me because I have always wanted to make an impact on the world and with research, I truly feel I can do that – leave my little mark on the world.
